If you read my blog, I've gone retro!, then you know that the first web page I ever created was on Yahoo Geocities. In that blog I refer to how the Geocities web page, creation tool, created pages made out of tables; hence the name of the blog, I've gone retro! I've gone retro because I've returned to the use of tables on my home page. Guess what, it's possible to return to Geocities, too!
Today, while thinking back to my times on Geocities, I decided to do a search too see if there were were any sorowful tributes to Geocities that I could read. Much to my amazement I found Geocities, still on the Internet! Here it is:
Yes, it's on Yahoo, Japan. I haven't checked out this Geocities, but it might be available to Americans. Before hosting my own website I used to use Russian web hosts; free and with a bunch of goodies, like MySQL, Perl support, etc. If you're interested in putting a site on Geocities then visit Yahoo Geocities in Japan and let me know how it works out for you.
